On April 1, Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co, Ltd. (NACKS) officially delivered the second 16,828 TEU container ship “Oriental Violet” (Hull No.NE423) built for OOCL.
The construction of the “Oriental Violet” started in February 2024, began hull erection in May of the same year, was successfully launched on December 15 and completed sea trials on March 20, 2025.
It is reported that OOCL has ordered four batches of ultra-large container ships from NACKS and Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co Ltd. (DACKS), demonstrating its strong support and full trust in the “NACKS” brand, as well as the high degree of compatibility between the two parties’ corporate cultures.
The successive deliveries of the series of ships have elevated the synergistic development of the Group’s shipping and equipment manufacturing segments to a brand new level.
During the off-site delivery of “Oriental Violet”, all departments of NACKS cooperated and overcame the difficulties to ensure the delivery of the project on schedule and with high quality, which also verified the efficient cooperation between NACKS and DACKS.
