On April 2, Jiangnan Shipyard’s 3rd dock welcomed two whole ships launched, along with one whole ship and one semi-finished ship simultaneously floated. Ships under construction at the 3rd dock include three mainstream large ship types, namely LNG carrier, ultra large container ship (ULCS), and very large ethane carriers (VLEC).
The second 14,000 TEU container ship
The 14,000 TEU container ship is the “Kun” series of large container ships independently developed by Jiangnan Shipyard, marking China’s technological breakthrough in the field of ultra-large container ships, leading the industry into a new era of efficient and green shipping. Meanwhile, the ship has been undergoing mooring tests and commissioning during the dock construction cycle.
The 98,000 m³ VLEC
The 98,000m³ VLEC continues the construction status of this series of ships in 4th dock. Guided by the lean production concept, Jiangnan Shipyard solved the problem of tight superstructure construction period and ensured the superstructure’s launching status requirements.
The 4th MARK III Membrane Type 175,000 m³ Large LNG carrier
The whole ship that was floated this time is the fourth in the LNG carrier series. The ship completed the installation of the twin shaft rudder system in only 10 days, and more than 90% of the main installation of the ship’s containment system was completed before floating.
First Version 2.0 99,000 m³ VLEC
The ship completed the installation of the shaft rudder system and the installation of the main engine before the floating of the half ship, and reached the state of cabin sealing, and at the same time realized the structural clearance before floating.
It is reported that the pace of parallel construction of three major mainstream large ships at Jiangnan Shipyard’s 3rd dock will continue this year.
