Recently, CSSC Silent Electric System (Wuxi) Technology Co.,Ltd. (SES-Tech) successfully signed a contract to supply shaft generator systems for six 2499DWT product oil tankers.
It is reported that this series of 73-meter product oil tankers was ordered by PRIMA MARINE of NATHALIN Group of Thailand, built by Ningbo Zhenhe Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., and designed by FKAB Marine Design (FKAB).
The vessels are tailored-made for easy and efficient operation in coastal and riverine areas of Thailand and are equipped with 5 pairs of epoxy-coated cargo tanks and 1 pair of slop tanks. The vessel is classed by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and is Thai flagged with unlimited sea area.
This series of tankers is equipped with SES-Tech’s “gearbox-type” shaft generator system, a 310kW shaft generator, and the core variable frequency electronic control equipment adopts SES-Tech’s independent intellectual property products. The SES-Tech shaft generator system can output constant frequency and voltage power with stable quality through the shaft frequency converter and filtering equipment, which can generate power alone or in parallel with the auxiliary generator set.
The shaft generator system is one of the energy-saving and environmentally friendly solutions used in the design of the vessel, in addition to others including FKAB’s patented low-drag F-Bow hull form, a biodiesel main engine and LED lighting.
