YMD Breaks Import Reliance with Breakthrough WinGD X92DF Cylinder Liner for Marine Engines

Recently, the WinGD X92DF cylinder liner developed by CSSC Engine’s Yichang Marine Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. (YMD) successfully passed the bench test verification, marking that the company has successfully created another brand-new product in the field of ship power equipment.

It is understood that the X92DF cylinder liner casting process requires extremely high precision in temperature, pressure and material proportioning. In addition, the wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant coating technology is also very demanding. This technology not only ensures the perfect combination of coating and cylinder liner substrate, but also ensures the lasting performance in the complex and harsh marine environment. This type of cylinder liner has high quality requirements and great difficulty in manufacturing, so it has been relying on imports.

In order to break the international monopoly and master independent and controllable core technologies, YMD has established a cross-departmental and multidisciplinary R&D team, strictly followed the technical specifications of the WinGD patent holder, and actively carried out exchanges and cooperation with relevant scientific research institutions at home and abroad. After repeated theoretical deductions, simulation tests and actual verification, it has successfully overcome a series of key technical problems.

WinGD X92DF cylinder liners meet the dual-mode operation requirements of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and marine fuel oil, and meet WinGD patent standards in terms of combustion chamber sealing, thermal fatigue resistance, etc. Its emission indicators meet the requirements of IMO Tier III, and its core indicators such as heat load bearing and friction vice matching have reached the international advanced level, marking a new breakthrough for the company in ship power matching.
