On March 28, Ocean Crown Technology, a subsidiary of Yuexin Ocean Engieering, and Guangzhou Port Shipping Company held a signing ceremony for the construction of two new smart electric ships, marking that the smart electric ships deployed for container transportation business in the Pearl River have officially entered the implementation stage.
This new inland smart pure battery-powered container ship has a total length of 69.90 meters, a beam of 19.00 meters, a depth of 5.70 meters and a designed draft of 4.50 meters. It can carry a total of 240TEU containers and has a maximum load capacity of approximately 4,000 tons.
The ship is equipped with three sets of rechargeable and replaceable containerized mobile power supplies and adopts a dual-engine and dual-propeller pure battery power propulsion system, which can achieve “zero emissions” during navigation and berthing for loading and unloading of cargo.
The ship will mainly navigate in the Class A navigation area of the Pearl River inland waterway, and it will also be able to meet the navigation needs of the routes from Nansha to Hong Kong and Zhuhai Gaolan Port. After completion, it is estimated that the annual carbon emissions of each ship will be reduced by 172 tons, and the energy cost will be saved by more than RMB 1 million per year.
Meanwhile, the ship is classed by China Classification Society (CCS), with additional signs of smart ship such as smart integration platform, smart navigation, smart energy efficiency management, etc. and meets the Green Ship-2 grade, fully demonstrating the scientific and technological as well as environmental protection attributes of the smart ship.
In addition, it is also equipped with an advanced ship shore-based management system, which can realize real-time shore-based monitoring of ship operating conditions and video monitoring cloud platform and other functions, providing strong support for the safe and low-carbon operation of ships.
