On March 31, CSSC Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) held a naming and delivery ceremony for the 49,600 DWT chemical/product oil tanker built for China Development Bank Financial Leasing (CDB Leasing).
The ship was named “TROUVAILLE” and is the last of the eight ships in the series built by GSI for CDB Leasing. The cumulative total of eight ships in this series were delivered ahead of schedule in a total of 484 days.
The ship is 183 meters in length, 32 meters in width, 11 meters in draft and 14.5 knots in service. It is a new generation of MR tanker independently developed and customized by GSI for CDB Leasing. This ship is energy-saving and environmentally friendly, meets the requirements of EEDI Phase III, and has superior performance, fully demonstrating GSI’s leading position in the MR tanker market.
It is reported that the project of eight 50,000-ton class oil tankers has integrated upstream and downstream resources of the industrial chain such as shipbuilding, financial leasing and ocean shipping logistics services, and has opened a new chapter of in-depth cooperation among central enterprises, state-owned enterprises and private enterprises.
Since the delivery of the first ship of this series in January 2024, GSI has taken advantage of batch construction, continuously optimized the construction process, vigorously promoted lean management, and steadily improved production efficiency, achieving the delivery of all eight ships in the series 484 days ahead of schedule, winning valuable operating time and good economic benefits for the shipowner.
