CIMC SOE Launched First 1450TEU Dual-Fuel Container Ship

On March 30, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd (CIMC SOE) successfully held a launching ceremony for the first 1450TEU dual-fuel container ship at the company’s west dock.

This is another major milestone for the ship after the keel was laid in October last year, marking the final sprint of ship construction.

It is understood that the ship has an overall length of 169.95 meters, a beam of 27.6 meters, a design draft of 9 meters and a speed of 18.5 knots. It adopts LNG dual-fuel propulsion system and is equipped with MAN high-pressure LNG dual-fuel main engine, which can significantly reduce operational pollution emissions and greenhouse gas emissions and is in line with the national goal of “carbon peak, carbon neutral”.

The ship is equipped with CIMC SOE’s independently designed LNG gas supply system (FGSS), which realizes the efficient and stable supply of fuel, and the innovative triple-tank design can effectively save the space and improve the cargo loading efficiency compared with the traditional solution.

The launching ceremony not only demonstrated CIMC SOE’s capabilities in the field of green shipbuilding, but also injected new momentum for the low-carbon transformation of the global shipping industry.
