On March 30th, Zhoushan Ningshing Ship Building & Repairing held a launching ceremony for the 13,000DWT duplex stainless steel chemical tanker “Shantong”, which was built for Shanghai Xingtong Wanbang Shipping.
It is understood that the “Shan Tong” is an important move for Xingtong Shipping to integrate resources and increase shipping capacity. It is also the first 10,000-ton class duplex stainless steel chemical tanker that Shanghai Xingtong Wanbang Shipping has restarted development and construction after more than ten years.
“Shan Tong” is 132 meters long, 21.5 meters wide, with a designed speed of 13.5 knots and a designed draft of 8.3 meters. It meets the NOxTier III emission standards and has the characteristics of green and low carbon, excellent performance, and strong cargo suitability.
By optimizing the line design and energy efficiency management system, the vessel reduces fuel consumption by 15% and carbon emission by 20% compared with similar vessels. Equipped with intelligent cargo management and safety monitoring systems, the vessel meets the highest safety standards of IMO II type ships, can carry a variety of chemicals and refined oil products at the same time, and the cargo hold design meets the most stringent cleaning requirements.
It is reported that the vessel is for both domestic and international trade, the cargo hold is made of duplex stainless steel 2205, single tank and single pump, suitable for the shipment of all kinds of cargoes, and is expected to be delivered and put into operation in the first half of 2025.
