On March 26, COSCO SHIPPING (Qidong) Offshore held a completion ceremony for the main hull of the floating production platform (N1048HU).
The main structure of platform N1048HU consists of ring pontoon and four columns, with an overall length and width of 98 meters, an overall height of 55.5 meters, and is equipped with four sets of 20 mooring systems and gas transmission risers.
Previously, COSCO SHIPPING (Qidong) Offshore delivered the living quarters module (N1048LQ) of the platform in April 2024. With a total length of 53.2 meters, a width of 18.3 meters, a height of 17.85 meters, and a total weight of approximately 3,250 tons, the living quarters is divided into three floors and equipped with 2-person and 3-person rooms, which can meet the living needs of 75 people.
After delivery, the platform will be deployed in the waters of Australia’s Northwest Continental Shelf to provide key production support for the Scarborough gas field, which is of great significance to promoting the stable development of the international energy supply system.
It is reported that N1048HU and N1048LQ are the first cooperation projects between COSCO SHIPPING (Qidong) Offshore and Woodside, the world’s leading oil and gas company, and McDermott, the general contractor of oil and gas engineering.
The three parties adhered to the concept of openness, sharing and win-win in their cooperation, deeply integrated their advantageous resources and jointly overcame technical difficulties. This cross-regional and cross-industry cooperation model not only laid a solid foundation for the successful delivery of the project, but also set a new example for cooperation in the field of global high-end offshore equipment.
