On March 23, the JANA 505 self-elevating offshore operation support platform independently designed and built by CSSC Wuhan Marine Machinery Plant (WMMP), successfully berthed at Qingdao Haixi Heavy-Duty Machinery (HHMC), completing its sea trials.
Trial voyage is a key part of the offshore platform from design to actual application. The sea trial can be used to test various systems and equipment of the platform, and to timely discover and solve potential problems, thereby improving the reliability and safety of the platform.
During the sea trials, under the witness of the ship owner and classification society, the project team members completed more than 20 tests, including main propulsion system endurance test, steering test, speed test, communication and navigation test, etc. in accordance with the sailing test outline. The test data not only meets the requirements of the Middle East region for offshore equipment, but also meets the requirements of the latest intelligent SMART notation of ABS.
The successful completion of the sea trial marks that the JANA 505 platform has entered the delivery stage from the initial construction stage.
