Hubei Jiangrun Shipbuilding cuts steel for 2500m³ LPG carrier

On March 22, Hubei Jiangrun Shipbuilding officially kicked off the construction of a 2,500 cbm LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) carrier with unrestricted navigation capabilities, designed by Zhongyuanhang Ship Institute (Wuhan) for Zhuhai Wangtong Shipping.

The vessel has been optimized and designed to meet the owner’s demand of less than 2,000 gross tons and 2,500m³ tank volume. The vessel adopts C-type fully pressurized LPG tanks to meet the customer’s high requirements for transportation efficiency and safety.

During the design process, Zhongyuanhang Ship Institute (Wuhan) has fully considered the need for energy saving and emission reduction by selecting a smaller main engine power, an excellent hull line and a series of energy-saving measures to meet the requirements of the phase III Ship Energy Efficiency Indicator (EEDI). This not only reflects its advanced technological strength in the field of ship design, but also demonstrates its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.

Hubei Jiangrun Shipbuilding is currently the only shipbuilding company in Hubei Province with experience in building large liquefied gas carriers. In the past five years, it has delivered three types of LPG carriers and has perfect production management capabilities and construction experience.

The vessel is expected to be completed and sea trials will be carried out in the next 14 months. It combines high efficiency power, precise navigation and strong hull, making it an efficient and environmentally friendly liquefied gas carrier.
