Wuhu Shipyard launched a 7,000 CEU dual-fuel PCTC

Recently, the second 7,000 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC (pure car and track carrier) “Kunpeng”, built by Wuhu Shipyard for Anhui Hangrui International RoRo Transportation (a subsidiary of Anhui Port and Shipping Group), was successfully launched in Zhoushan.

The PCTC measures 200 meters in length and 38 meters in width. It features 12 cargo decks with a capacity of 7,000 CEU, capable of accommodating a wide range of vehicles, including passenger cars, heavy trucks, construction machinery, and new energy vehicles.

The vessel’s propulsion system adopts the latest generation WinGD dual-fuel main engine, MacGregor electronically controlled RORO system with iCER technology, permanent magnet shaft with generator, and BOG energy-saving design, which meets the strict Tier III emission standard requirements of the International Maritime Organization.

In early July 2023, the first three 7,000 CEU LNG dual-fuel powered ro-ro vessels construction project of Hangrui International RoRo Transportation completed the public tender, with a contract price of US$88.95 million for a single vessel, which was won by Wuhu Shipyard. According to previous Anhui Port and Shipping news, the construction of these 3 Ro-Ro vessels was placed in Zhoushan East Coast Shipyard.

Anhui Hangrui International RoRo Transportation was established in December 2022 as a tripartite joint venture between Anhui Port and Shipping Group, Chery Automobile Joint Stock Company, and JAC Motors Group. With the primary task of ensuring the smooth export of commercial vehicles from automobile enterprises in Anhui Province and actively building a supply chain and logistics system for automobile export, the company is committed to solving the problem of difficult export transportation of vehicles in Anhui Province and even in whole China.
