On March 19, China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) Co. Ltd.(CMJL (Nanjing)) held a ceremony to inaugurate the delivery of the 6,500 DWT methanol bunkering tanker and an opening ceremony for the outfitting quay, marking that the quay formally has the capacity to deliver vessels.
The 6,500 DWT methanol bunkering tanker delivered this time is the sixth vessel of the same type ordered by Singapore’s Consort Bunkers in CMJL (Nanjing). With an overall length of 103.88 meters, a beam of 19.00 meters and a design draft of 7.00 meters, the vessel is equipped with twin engines, twin propellers and bow thrusters.
The cargo tanks will adopt the leading technology in the industry, which can not only carry general refined oil products, but also obtain the Class II Chemical Ship Notation, which is suitable for loading methyl alcohol, fatty acid methyl ester, biofuel etc.
It is reported that CMJL (Nanjing) outfitting quay is qualified for opening in January 2025 with the joint support of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce, Nanjing Municipal Department of Commerce and Maritime, Customs and Border Guard Departments.
The opening and delivery of the first foreign vessel signifies that CMJL (Nanjing) has entered into a new stage in the field of green shipbuilding and international terminal operation, which will further optimize the operation and management of CMJL (Nanjing), contribute to the high-quality development of the local economy, and assist in the green and low-carbon transformation of the global shipbuilding industry.
