On March 17, China’s Taiwan-based Wisdom Marine Group announced on its official website that the company will place an order for two 39,000 dwt bulk carriers at Japan’s Naikai Zosen, with a total transaction amount not exceeding $70.75 million and a single-vessel cost of no more than $35.375 million.
The shipowner has not yet disclosed more details of the order. The industry speculates that the delivery date may be set for 2028.
Wisdom Marine also ordered two 84,000 dwt Kamsarmax bulk carriers from Zhoushan Tsuneishi Shipbuilding in January last year, with a total order value of $80 million, which are expected to be delivered in 2026, according to the report.
Wisdom Marine Group is the largest dry bulk shipowner in Taiwan by number ofvessels.The company has a fleet of 148 vessels, 13 of which are newbuildings on order. Its primary businesses are acquisitionownership, management and operation of dry bulk vessels, with a focus on the handy sector.
