On March 17, the 15,600 DWT heavy-load transport vessel, custom-built by Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd (hereafter called Zhenjiang Shipyard) for an overseas client, entered its final inspection phase and is set to be delivered within this month.
The vessel boasts strong loading and transportation capabilities, enabling it to handle the loading and unloading operation of offshore wind power components under limited port conditions, while also featuring excellent energy-saving and environmental protection performance.
As the first shipbuilding enterprise in Jiangsu Province and a leading company in Zhenjiang’s offshore engineering equipment industry chain, Zhenjiang Shipyard has driven its development through technological innovation, focusing on intelligent and green initiatives. By actively forging new productive forces, the company has delivered a “report card” of high-quality development.
According to Guo Yan, the chairman of Zhenjiang Shipyard, the company delivered a total of 45 vessels in 2024, completing the annual target task, and the company’s output value, sales and profits and taxes have achieved a synchronized growth, and is expected to continue to maintain a growth of 10%-15% in 2025.
Zhenjiang Shipyard currently holds order for 51 vessels, the contract value of more than RMB 4 billion, the company’s development to realize the international and domestic markets go hand in hand with a good situation, the delivery period of the order in hand has been scheduled to 2027.
In December 2024, the total number of azimuthing-stern drive (ASD) tugs built by Zhenjiang Shipyard has exceeded 700, and it has been appraised as “National Manufacturing Single Champion Enterprise” by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
In January 2025, the world’s first high-power hydrogen-electric hybrid ASD tug “QING DIAN TUO 1” was launched in Zhenjiang Shipyard. The vessel was independently designed and built for Qingdao Port in Shandong province. The world’s first “hydrogen battery plus liquid-cooled lithium battery” power model is used to create a new “fuel cell hybrid power plus green ecological mark” new ship type.
Founded as early as on May 25th ,1951, Zhenjiang Shipyard is the first founding shipbuilding enterprise in Jiangsu Province and the first identified hi-tech marine enterprise re-approved by Jiangsu provincial government.
Now the company has 5 wholly-owned subsidiaries in China such as Jiangsu Lan Bo Shipbuilding Co. Ltd and Zhenjiang Lan Bo Ship Design Co., Ltd etc. and it also invested one share of subsidiary in domestic market, owning one Dock factory.
Currently, the shipyard covers an area of about 500,000m2 and possesses a coastal line as long as 700 meters. Being equipped with three slipways, one 80,000 DWT, one 20,000 DWT and one 5,000 DWT, the yard also boasts two fixed quays and one outfitting dock. The maximum lifting capacity of the DWT is 600 tons. With a total reach of 1200 meters, the quay is also featured by a maximum lifting capacity of 30 tons. We are a technically advanced ship builder and the manufacturing process is split into three units, hull manufacturing, outfitting and paint coating. With an area of 100,000m2 of indoor workshops and over 1300 pieces of equipment, the company a completely integrated manufacturing facility which includes design, manufacture and management of all aspects of approvals and quality assurance.
