TMC Compressors, a Norwegian supplier of marine/offshore compressed air systems, announced that it has been chosen to deliver a large capacity marine compressed air system to the large FLNG facility that Wison New Energies is building for Malaysia-based Genting.
TMC will deliver its scope as a subcontractor to Jereh Offshore, which is a China-based engineering technology and service company to the offshore industries.
As part of its scope of supply, TMC will deliver a marine compressed air system consisting of six compressors in total, for control air, instrument air, N2 feed air and utility purposes. The company has not disclosed the value of the contract.
The FLNG facility will have a capacity of 1.2 million tonnes LNG per annum.
In June 2024, Genting Group signed an FLNG EPCIC contract with Wison Clean Energy through its two subsidiaries, PT Layar Nusantara Gas and Genting Oil & Gas Sdn Bhd, with a value of US$1 billion and an estimated contract period of 27 months. This type of FLNG will be built in a Chinese shipyard and shipped to Teluk Bintuni in West Papua Province, Indonesia for final commissioning tests after passing the shipyard’s performance tests.
On February 18 this year, New Energies held a keel laying ceremony for the Genting Group’s FLNG project at its Nantong base, marking the official entry of Indonesia’s first FLNG into the core construction phase. Adopting a standardized design developed by Wison, the FLNG facility, with an overall length of approximately 278.8 meters, a width of 60 meters and an operating water depth of 32.8 meters, is expected to be deployed in the Kasuri Block concession area in West Papua, Indonesia, upon completion in the third quarter of 2026.
TMC’s compressors have been designed solely for marine and offshore use. They have been developed with energy efficiency and ease of maintenance in mind, and the crew can easily maintain the compressors themselves, even while at sea.
TMC is a global supplier of compressed air systems for marine and offshore use. The company is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.
