Recently, the 8ML450DF medium-speed dual-fuel engine prototype developed by CSSC Power (Group) Corporation Ltd. (CPGC) was successfully ignited and operated at CSSC Marine Power Zhenjiang (CMP). This marks a new phase in the development of the dual-fuel engine, further laying the foundation for the engineering and industrial application of domestically developed large-bore medium-speed dual-fuel engines.
To ensure the smooth ignition of the first engine, CPGC set up an engineering prototype test team. Facing the severe challenges of tight time and heavy task, CPGC successively completed the work of setting up of the test stand, piping system connection, host alignment, electric control system wiring inspection, whole machine dynamic debugging, joint adjustment of various systems of the whole engine and safety guarantee. This fully demonstrates CPGC’s strength in green and low-carbon engine R&D and manufacturing.
In the future, CPGC will continue to carry out various performance tests and optimizations of the whole machine, complete classification society type approval tests, and make greater contributions to accelerating the industrialization of independent medium-speed dual-fuel engines.
