On March 13, Beihai Shipbuilding under CSSC, China Ship Scientific Research Center (The 702nd Research Institute of CSSC), CSIC (China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation) Shanghai Marine Energy Saving Technology Development (CMES-Tech) and CSIC (Qingdao) Rail Transit Equipment held a signing ceremony for the 325,000 DWT ore carrier rotor sail project.
Concurrently, CMES-Tech authorized CSIC (Qingdao) Rail Transit Equipment to establish a “Northern Manufacturing Base”, aiming to further deepen their long-term cooperative relationship, leverage their respective advantageous resources, and promote the high-quality development of ship energy-saving innovative products.
In recent years, Beihai Shipbuilding adheres to the innovation leadership, conforms to the development direction of low-carbon and zero-carbon ships, continuously improves the energy utilization efficiency of ships, reduces carbon emissions, and makes continuous breakthroughs in the construction of large-scale green ship models.
China Ship Scientific Research Center is committed to the development of supporting industries for ship energy conservation and emission reduction, and is continuously improving its technology in low-resistance, high-efficiency and energy-saving propulsion devices and energy efficiency upgrade systems. Based on good cooperation, the two sides have determined the technical solution and cooperation model for the 325,000 DWT ore carrier rotor sail project after full consultation and communication.
CMES-Tech authorized CSIC (Qingdao) Rail Transit Equipment to establish a “Northern Manufacturing Base”, which is more conducive to coordinating the advantages of resources, industries, technologies, etc. of all parties, accelerating the advancement of the ship supporting industry chain, improving the level of new energy ship construction and supporting technologies, and continuously expanding a broader market, contributing to the realization of sustainable development of the shipping industry.
