WMMP to Build Advanced Jack-Up Platform for CNOOC

Recently, CSSC Wuhan Marine Machinery Plant (WMMP) signed a contract with Cnooc Energy Technology&Services Limited (CNOOC) for the construction of “Basic Platform+” project, according to WMMP.

The platform is classed by CCS and is a four-legged offshore jack-up platform. The main body is a box-shaped structure with a planar shape close to a rectangle. It adopts cylindrical pile legs, two at the stern and two at the bow, the lower end of the pile legs is equipped with pile boots.

The platform lifting device adopts 4-2500T hydraulic pin lifting system, the platform is equipped with one crane on each side of the main deck, 50T and 30T respectively, which can meet the requirements of lifting offshore facilities and the use of its own platform. The living building is located at the bow of the hull and can provide living for 200 people. After the platform is completed, it will serve the Bohai Oilfield to provide production increase and mobile heat injection operations, which is a powerful platform.

Currently the Bohai Oilfield is the largest crude oil production base in China, and the first application of this platform in the future will be a major breakthrough for WMMP to develop the domestic offshore oilfield equipment needs.

WMMP has strong integrated design, R&D and manufacturing capabilities. In recent years, it has built more than 40 offshore platforms through EPC contract and has been unanimously recognized by customers for its excellent product performance and full life cycle services.

In the past, the orders for multi-functional platforms received by WMMP mainly came from the Middle East, and the signing of this project will strongly open up the domestic market for auxiliary platforms for oil development and further expand WMMP’s influence in the EPC market for jack-up offshore platforms.
