On March 11, 2025, GTT and Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “BPE”) officially signed onshore membrane full containment tank technology cooperation agreement, marking a crucial step in the deep cooperation between the two companies in the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage and transportation technology.
Liu Hanying – Deputy General Manager of BPE, Edward Chen – Business Development Manager of GTT China, and the head of BPE technical departments jointly participated in the signing ceremony.
Xu Jiantao, Chairman of BPE, stated that as a high-tech enterprise in China, BPE has accumulated rich engineering experience in natural gas liquefaction, peak shaving station construction and other fields, and has undertaken multiple national key projects including LNG projects owned by Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co. Ltd.
This cooperation aims to integrate the technological advantages of both parties. As a global leader in LNG storage and transportation technology, GTT is known for its onshore membrane full containment tank technology, which has advantages such as high safety, increased storage capacity, stored cargo adaptability, low-carbon and energy saving, etc. It has over 60 years of experience in cryogenic cargo storage and transportation. Xu Jiantao emphasized that this cooperation will help promote innovation in domestic energy storage and transportation technology, and drive the industry’s green and low-carbon transformation.
Adnan Ezzarhouni, General Manager of GTT China, highly recognizes the technical strength and project experience of BPE in the field of LNG liquefaction plants and LNG peak shaving stations. The cooperation between the two parties will fully leverage their complementary advantages, jointly expand potential markets, and provide greener cryogenic storage solutions for the energy industry.
Under the agreement, the two parties will cooperate on all aspects of onshore membrane fullcontainment tank technology, including technology research and development, engineering application and market promotion.
