On March 11, Fujian Funing Shipbuilding Heavy Industry, a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding, successfully began the construction of three 12,000 DWT self-propelled deck cargo vessels (HULL NO. MW716-1/2/3).
The type vessel has an overall length of 119.9 meters, a beam of 30 meters, a depth of 7.15 meters, a design draft of 4.96 meters and a maximum draft of 4.96 meters.
Classed by China Classification Society (CCS), the vessel has a crew of 16, service speed of 10.3 knots and deadweight of about 12,200 tons under maximum draught. With unlimited navigation area, the vessel is mainly used for transporting bauxite, iron ore lumps, iron ore powder, coal, sand, bulk general cargoes, etc.
