On March 10th, Jiangsu Rainbow Heavy Industries stated that the company has an annual shipbuilding capacity of no less than 10 vessels, with potential for further expansion in production capabilities, and that the relevant shipbuilding contracts are being fulfilled as normal. Jiangsu Rainbow Heavy Industries’s hardware advantages in the shipbuilding sector include possessing slipways, workshops for manufacturing high-end stainless steel products, shipyard canopy designs, and experience accumulated in the offshore vessel sector since 2011.
Recently, John T. Essberger Group’s order for two 13,000 dwt duplex stainless steel chemical tankers option vessels with Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipment (ROC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jiangsu Rainbow Heavy Industries, came into effect. In September last year, Essberger signed a contract with ROC for the construction of 2+4 13,000 DWT chemical tankers, and the number of vessels in force has reached 4 so far. This order is the first time for ROC to undertake chemical tankers, and also the first order for dual-fuel-powered vessels from this shipyard, which is of great significance to ROC.
Previously in February, ROC renewed the construction contract of 2 SPP40 platform supply vessels with China Development Bank Financial Leasing (CDB Leasing), and the 2 SPP40 platform supply vessel projects already signed by both parties in the previous period are under orderly construction.
In addition, CDB Leasing made an announcement on January 27th that CDB Leasing signed contracts for a total of 4 offshore support vessels with ROC in two phases.
According to its official website, ROC was established in 2011 with a registered capital of 1.2 billion yuan. It is a wholly domestic-funded limited liability company set up by Jiangsu Rainbow Heavy Industries in the Offshore Shipbuilding Industrial Park of Qidong City, Jiangsu Province.
The shipyard covers an area of about 500,000 square meters and has an 800-meter Changjiang River coastline. Its main facilities include a 100,000-square-meter factory building, one indoor and outdoor slipway, an 80,000-square-meter heavy equipment assembly site, and a 326-meter/50,000-ton heavy-load loading and unloading/outfitting dock (equipped with a 250-ton gantry crane). It focuses on the design and manufacture of offshore engineering vessels, offshore wind power, new energy equipment, bridge steel structures and other additional products, and is committed to becoming a leading offshore wind power equipment company.
