CNPC Offshore Engineering’s Indonesia JUB Project Successfully Delivered at CMJL (Weihai)

On March 6th, the delivery ceremony for CNPC’s Indonesia JUB project was held at China Merchants Jingling Shipyard (Weihai) Co. Ltd. (“CMJL (Weihai)”). The following day, with the support and coordination of maritime authorities, pilots, and the shipowner, the vessel was towed to the anchorage and successfully loaded onto the barge.

This project is the first international offshore drilling project of CNPC Offshore Engineering in the middle and high-end market. After the platform arrived at the shipyard, the project teams from both sides meticulously segmented the project into multiple aspects. Over the course of more than four months, they focused on quality control, safety management, design optimization, and process improvements. Ultimately, they successfully completed the CCS special survey, ABS classification survey, anti-corrosion coating of the main hull, legs, and pile boots, as well as the maintenance of drilling, well control, and other platform equipment.

It is reported that CNPC Offshore Engineering 16 Platform is the first medium and high-end overseas operating platform converted by CNPC Offshore Engineering in CMJL (Weihai), which is of great significance to CMJL (Weihai). The delivery of the platform is not only a milestone of sincere cooperation between China Merchants Industry and China National Petroleum Corporation in Bohai Bay, but also a new starting point for both parties to go to the blue.
