On March 7th, New Yangzi Shipbuilding delivered the second 50,000 DWT oil tanker “SEAMERIT,” built for Yangzijiang Financial Holdings and shipowner Scorpio, as it departed from the shipyard’s dock and entered operational service.
The vessel was designed by Shanghai Yikai Ship Design, with an overall length of 183 meters, a structural draft of 13.30 meters, and a service speed of 14.5 knots. It is equipped with an open-loop U-type scrubber and meets the EEDI Phase III standards. Classed by ABS, this vessel is an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly green chemical tanker, featuring excellent port adaptability and strong market competitiveness.
The vessel commenced construction in late March 2024, was keel laid for assembly in mid-September, and launched in mid-November. It successfully completed its sea trials in mid-January 2025, with all test results meeting the design standards. On March 4th, the “SEAMERIT” was officially signed and delivered.
