SWS Delivers One 114,000 DWT Aframax Product Tanker to Eastern Pacific Shipping

On March 7, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) officially delivered the 114,000 DWT Aframax product tanker “ATLANTIC GEM” to Singapore’s Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS). This vessel marks the fifth consecutive oil tanker delivered by SWS this year.

The “ATLANTIC GEM” is the latest generation of Aframax tanker independently developed and designed by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding. This vessel features notable characteristics such as being green, environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, safe, and economical. Its EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index), validated through actual ship performance, has already met the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Phase 3 requirements set for 2025. Additionally, its nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions comply with Tier III standards, and its sulfur oxide (SOx) emissions meet regulatory requirements, making it highly favored by customers.

During the construction process, SWS continuously upgraded the interior design of the superstructure to meet the personalized requirements of EPS. The design team focused on enhancing the quality of life for the crew by optimizing the interior layout, adding recreational facilities, and improving configurations, thereby creating a comfortable and convenient living environment for the crew.
