SWS breaks ground for Frontline’s 158,000 DWT Suezmax Crude Oil Tanker

On March 6, Chinese shipbuilder Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) held a steel cutting ceremony for a 158,000 DWT Suezmax crude oil tanker built for Norwegian Frontline.

It is the third 158,000 DWT Suezmax tanker built by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for Frontline Company which is classed by ABS.

The vessel is designed independently by the shipbuilder, with an overall length of 274.2 meters, a beam of 48.0 meters, a design draught of 16 meters, a design deadweight tonnage of 158,000 tons, a design speed of 14.2 kn. It is equipped with a MAN B&W 6G70ME-C10.5 mainframe that meets Tier III specifications.
