Xingtong Shipping Signs Contract for Four Intelligent 13,000 DWT Chemical Tankers with Taizhou Kouan shipbuilding

On March 6, Xingtong Shipping, through its subsidiaries, officially signed a shipbuilding contract with Taizhou Kouan shipbuilding for the construction of four 13,000 DWT stainless steel chemical tankers.

This marks the first collaboration between the two parties. Xingtong Shipping, through its wholly-owned Singapore subsidiaries Xingtong Kairong Shipping and Xingtong Kaiyong Shipping, signed contracts for two vessels, with expected delivery dates of July 31, 2026, and January 31, 2027, respectively. Xingtong Wanbang, through its wholly-owned Hong Kong subsidiaries Shanming Shipping (Hong Kong) and Shande Shipping (Hong Kong), signed contracts for another two vessels, scheduled for delivery on September 30, 2026, and November 30, 2026, respectively.

The two vessels contracted with the wholly-owned Singapore subsidiaries of Xingtong Shipping are classed by China Classification Society (CCS) and are suitable for unlimited navigation areas. Each vessel has a length of 133.3 meters, a beam of 21.5 meters, a depth of 11.6 meters, and a designed speed of 13.5 knots. With a deadweight tonnage of 13,000 tons, the vessels feature a single tank, single pump, and single pipeline system, offering a total tank capacity of approximately 15,300 cubic meters. They are capable of carrying IMO Category II and III chemicals. The main and auxiliary engines comply with Tier III emission standards, and the vessels are equipped with cybersecurity class notations, making them the latest generation of high-end stainless steel chemical tankers.

The two vessels contracted with Xingtong’s wholly-owned Hong Kong subsidiaries are classed by Bureau Veritas (BV) and are suitable for unlimited navigation areas. Each vessel has a length of 132 meters, a beam of 21.5 meters, a depth of 11.6 meters, and a designed speed of 13.5 knots. With a deadweight tonnage of 13,800 tons, the vessels feature a single tank, single pump, and single pipeline system, offering a total tank capacity of approximately 15,300 cubic meters. They are capable of carrying IMO Category II and III chemicals. The main and auxiliary engines comply with Tier III emission standards, and the vessels are equipped with cybersecurity class notations, making them the latest generation of high-end stainless steel chemical tankers.

It is reported that the signing of the contract for the construction of vessels is a key measure for Xingtong to implement the development strategy of “1+2+1”, to take intelligent ships as the leader, and to strengthen the green and internationalization layout, which reflects the development concept of the company that always adheres to the decision-making in combination with the trend of market demand.

Meanwhile, the signing of four new intelligent 13,000DWT stainless steel chemical tankers marks a key step for Xingtong Shipping in the field of intelligent vessels and will continue to enhance the green and intelligent proportion of Xingtong’s international fleet. The intelligent systems carried by the vessels will significantly improve the fleet’s operational efficiency and safety, and provide customers with higher quality and better transportation services.
