On March 5, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard held the naming and delivery ceremony for the 13th vessel in the series, the 62,000 DWT heavy lift vessel “XIANG FU”, built for BOCOM Leasing.
“XIANG FU” has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a width of 32.26 meters, and a full-load draft of 13.5 meters. The vessel is equipped with five cargo holds, featuring a large and hatch opening structure, with the maximum hold length reaching approximately 40 meters.
It is fitted with two 150-ton cranes and two 80-ton cranes, enabling flexible loading of oversized equipment and containers of various sizes. The high deadweight tonnage and box-shaped structure design make it suitable for transporting various types of general dry bulk cargo. Additionally, the vessel’s Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) meets Phase III standards, with NOx emissions complying with Tier III requirements and SOx emissions meeting the latest standards, making it an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly green vessel.
It is reported that the “XIANG FU” is the ninth 62,000 DWT multi-purpose heavy lift vessel in the series to be operated by COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers. The vessel will embark on its maiden voyage on the Far East-America route, carrying cargo such as RTGs, wind power equipment, and breakbulk to ports in North and South America.
