JOHN T. ESSBERGER Exercises Options for Two Methanol-Ready 13,000 DWT Chemical Tankers

Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipment (ROC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jiangsu Rainbow Heavy Industries,announced that recently it has successfully held a contract signing ceremony for the subsequent two optional vessels with the German shipowner JOHN.T.ESSBERGER in Shanghai.

This 13,000 dwt methanol dual fuel chemical tanker has an overall length of 132 meters, a mold breadth of 21.8 meters, a mold depth of 11.4 meters, a designed draft of 8.5 meters, and a deadweight tonnage of 13,000 tons at the structural draft. The service speed is 12.5 knots. These vessels are classified as Ice Class 1A, meet Tier III emission standards, and are designed to be methanol fuel ready (Methanol Ready), fully complying with green emission standards.

The above two vessels are options for the construction contract of 2+4 13,000 dwt methanol dual-fuel powered chemical tankers between JOHN.T.ESSBERGER Group and ROC in September 2024. ESSBERGER expressed the first two new vessels will be delivered and will be operated with partner Stolt Tankers in the E&S Tankers pool, which manages 47 vessels ranging from 2,800 dwt to 11,300 dwt and trades in Europe, particularly the Baltic Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and Northwest Europe.

This signing further strengthened the comprehensive cooperation between the two parties in the field of stainless-steel chemical tankers.
