On February 28th, a groundbreaking ceremony for the Zongyang Shipyard project of Anhui Port & Shipping Sealand Equipment Company, jointly invested by Shandong Port Group and Anhui Province port & shipping group, was held in Tongling, Anhui Province.
The project is located in Tongling City, which is on the golden waterway of the Changjiang River and is an important copper industrial base. It has excellent water transportation conditions, a strong industrial base, a well-supported shipbuilding industry, and obvious advantages in the development of new energy electric ship industry.
The project, with a total investment of 670 million yuan, is jointly invested by Shandong Sealand Equipment Group and Tongling Port and Shipping Company of Anhui Port and Shipping Group. Upon completion, it will engage in shipbuilding, repair, and dismantling, and establish a “port + industrial park” model. This initiative aims to enhance the functional layout of Tongling Port, accelerate the manufacturing of new energy vessels, and strive to build a modern “new energy ship repair and construction base, comprehensive three-dimensional hub port, advanced intelligent manufacturing base, and port-side economic industrial park.” It will also serve as a key pillar for Tongling’s shipbuilding and port equipment industries.
It is understood that, as the head of the two provinces port shipping enterprises, in February 2021, Shandong Port Group and Anhui Province port & shipping group signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation framework agreement to build a world-class port. 2024 November, Shandong port belongs to the Shandong Land and Sea Equipment Group and Anhui Province Port and Navigation Group Tongling Port and Navigation Company signed an agreement of intent to invest in the two sides signed in December of the same year to deepen the cooperation agreement.
Shandong Sealand Equipment Group, a subsidiary of Shandong Port, signed an investment intention agreement with Tongling Port and Shipping Company of Anhui Port and Shipping Group, and in December of the same year, the two sides signed a deepening cooperation agreement.
According to public information, Anhui Port & Shipping Sealand Equipment Company was founded on February 27, 2025, and its business scope includes: ship design, shipbuilding, ship repair, ship dismantling etc.
