COSCO SHIPPING (Qidong) Offshore kicks off construction of 154,000 DWT shuttle tanker

On February 27th, COSCO SHIPPING (Qidong) Offshore held a steel cutting ceremony for a 154,000 DWT shuttle tanker project.

Classed by DNV, the 154,000DWT shuttle tanker is equipped with DP2 power positioning system and bow loading system, which can meet the requirements of Tier III emission standard and EEDI Phase II.

It is worth mentioning that the vessel adopts a new generation of energy-saving and environment-friendly design innovatively developed by COSCO SHIPPING (Qidong) Offshore, which has completely independent intellectual property rights.

This design not only enhances the performance of the ship, but also reflects the company’s technical strength in the field of energy saving and environmental protection, which helps to promote the global shipping industry towards green and low-carbon development.

It is understood that shuttle tankers, as a key transportation tool connecting offshore oilfields and land terminals, play an important role in the global energy transportation system. With the continuous growth of global energy demand and increasingly stringent environmental protection requirements, higher requirements have been put forward for the performance, environmental protection and intelligence of shuttle tankers.

This 154,000DWT shuttle tanker constructed by COSCO SHIPPING (Qidong) Offshore follows the development trend and integrates advanced technology and design concepts into the construction of the vessel.
