On February 27th, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “CIMC SOE”) held the keel laying ceremony for the SPP40 platform supply vessel (hull number S1095), marking the official commencement of the main hull structure assembly phase for the vessel.
It is reported that the SPP40 platform supply vessel has an overall length of 81.75 meters, a beam of 17.40 meters, and a designed deadweight of 4,000 tons. It is equipped with a hybrid power system and secondary dynamic positioning technology.
The vessel features an unmanned engine room, zero emissions for up to 7 days, primary external firefighting capabilities, and the ability to handle oil spills on the sea surface. With a deck cargo area of 800 square meters, it can efficiently transport a variety of materials such as methanol, fresh water, and drilling water.
Since its commencement in November of the previous year, the project team at CIMC SOE has been steadily advancing the construction of the vessel. As a high-end offshore equipment customized by CIMC SOE for international clients, the innovative design of the SPP40 platform supply vessel not only meets global emission reduction requirements but is also adaptable to various operational scenarios, providing clients with cost-effective and efficient solutions. In the future, CIMC SOE will accelerate the overall assembly and system commissioning of the project to ensure the timely delivery of the vessel, further solidifying its competitive edge in the global offshore equipment market.
