Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Delivers a 114,000 DWT Aframax Product Tanker to Greece’s Thenamaris

On February 24, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), officially signed and delivered the third vessel in the series of 114,000 DWT Aframax product tankers, named “ISABELLA,” to Greece’s Thenamaris.

It is understood that “ISABELLA” is the latest generation of Aframax tankers independently developed and designed by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding. The series of vessels through a comprehensive hydrodynamic performance optimization, configuration of hydrodynamic energy-saving ducts and elimination of vortex fins, optimization of the main engine selection and other measures, so that the energy efficiency level is greatly improved.

The EEDI indexes have been verified by the real ship and reached the requirements of International Maritime Organization (IMO) Tier III in 2025 in advance. At the same time, the NOx emission meets the Tier III requirements and the SOx emission meets the emission requirements, which is highly favored by the customers, and is an green ship with environmental protection, energy saving, safety and economy.

On the same day, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding successfully held a steel cutting ceremony for a 114,000 DWT Aframax product tanker to be built for Greece’s Performance Company.

It is reported that the 114,000 DWT Aframax product tanker is one of the main ship types of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, and the company will achieve mass production of this type of vessels in 2025.
