Chinese shipbuilder Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding announced that it has signed a construction contract for two 9200 TEU methanol reserved container ships with Danaos, a famous Greek shipping company. This is the first time for Huangpu Wenchong to undertake large container ship orders, which will strongly enhance the company’s competitiveness and brand influence in the international market.
The 9200TEU container ship is designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI) , with an overall length of 274 meters, a beam of 45.6 meters, a depth of 24.7 meters, a deadweight of 107,500 tons and a speed of 20 knots.
The ship adopts methanol fuel reservation design and is equipped with open desulfurization device and shore power device, which meets the Tier III emission standard of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and is equipped with a number of energy-saving and environmental protection devices, which has the significant advantages of high economic efficiency, green environmental protection, intelligence and safety.
