CCS Approves Weichai Heavy Machinery’s Biodiesel Marine Engines

On February 20, China Classification Society (CCS) issued the type approval certificate of WH25 and 170 B100 biodiesel marine engines to Weichai Heavy Machinery.

During the type approval process, CCS, in accordance with the specification requirements, authenticated the WH25 and 170B100 biodiesel engines in the test process of 100h endurance, field performance test, component dismantling and inspection, and confirmed that the models meet the relevant requirements of the CCS specification. Weichai Heavy Machinery has significantly reduced the engine emissions by matching and optimizing the fuel system, and the emission level fully meets the IMO Tier II requirements.

The approved biodiesel engine is highly reliable, with excellent emission performance, wide power coverage and mature matching solutions. After matching and optimizing the fuel system, the carbon emission is reduced by 50%, smoke by 80% and PM by 50% compared with ordinary diesel fuel, which meets the IMO Tier II requirements and provides a solution for green energy transformation.
