On February 18th, “Dalian High-tech Ship and Offshore Equipment Industry Development Conference” hosted by Dalian Municipal Government of Liaoning Province was grandly held in Dalian.
At this conference, four enterprises—Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC), Hengli Heavy Industries, Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co Ltd.(DACKS), and COSCO Shipbuilding Industry (Dalian)—released their cooperation demands based on industry development directions and current orders. A total of 34 projects were signed on-site, involving an investment of RMB 5.05 billion, with several heavyweight cooperative projects officially launched. Covering the greening and intelligent upgrading and transformation of ship assembly enterprises, ship raw materials and ship supporting equipment, marine engineering equipment, marine intelligent manufacturing, ship industrial park construction and procurement, supply and marketing and other fields, and continue to enhance the construction capacity of ships and offshore equipment and local supporting capacity.
Chen Jianhua, Chairman of Hengli Group, stated that the grand convening of this Ship and Offshore Equipment Supporting Industry Development Conference is a significant event aimed at strengthening maritime capabilities and building a “strong maritime city.” In the future, once Hengli Heavy Industries reaches full production capacity, it will achieve an annual processing capacity of 2.3 million tons of steel plates, construct 150 ultra-large ships, and produce 180 engines, becoming the world’s largest single shipyard. This will boost China’s shipbuilding industry standing on the global industry’s commanding heights, further contributing to the nation’s goals of becoming a maritime and shipbuilding country.
Dalian City has a strong foundation in the ship and offshore equipment industry, and regards the construction of high-tech ship and high-end offshore equipment manufacturing bases as an important means to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and the cultivation and growth of strategic emerging industries. Dalian City will actively adapt to the green development trend of the shipbuilding industry, build a complete cluster ecology of the industrial chain, and build the ship and offshore industry into an important economic growth point.
In the next three years, Dalian City will firmly grasp the new quality productivity as the core in terms of shipbuilding and offshore equipment industries, take high technology, high efficiency and high quality as the direction, practice new concepts, and develop new technologies and new products. , build new projects, cultivate four major ship and offshore equipment industrial bases, and build a world-class green ship and offshore equipment construction, repair and modification base. It is expected that the industrial scale will exceed RMB 100 billion in 2027.
