Xinle Shipbuilding Wins Contract For Up to Six 20,000 cbm LNG Bunkering Vessels

Recently, Ningbo Xinle Shipbuilding Group (Xinle Shipbuilding) and Hong Kong Sea Kapital Holdings (Sea Kapital) signed a contract for the construction of 2+2+2 20,000 cbm liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessels.

This order marks that Xinle Shipbuilding has once again undertaken an LNG carrier construction project after many years. As early as 2013, Xinle Shipbuilding received an order from Zhejiang Yuanhe Shipping to build a 30,000 cbm LNG carrier, which equipped with the first independent C-type tank dual-fuel LNG carrier independently developed and built in China.

Sea Kapital, co-founded by Sabrina Chao and Kenneth Lam, is headquartered in Hong Kong and operates as an independent international ocean-going vessel leasing company. It provides ship leasing solutions to global shipowners, maritime operators, and charterers. In August last year, Sea Kapital, in partnership with Seacon Shipping Group Holdings, established Continental Kapital, with each party holding a 50% stake in the joint venture.

The official website shows that Xinle Shipbuilding is a shipbuilding company with a history of more than 50 years, and currently owns one 50,000-ton and one 30,000-ton dock; two 10,000-ton platforms, two 160-meter-long 30,000-ton outfitting wharves; one 700-ton gantry crane, two 200-ton gantry cranes, and two 100-ton gantry cranes.
