On February 17-18, 2025, Wuhu Shipyard, in collaboration with Harbin Engineering University, China Construction Port and Navigation Bureau Group, Qingdao Rongfa Group, and Qingdao Hachuan Intelligent Control Technology, officially inaugurated the Qingdao Deep-Sea Equipment Testing and Research Center.
This center focuses on pioneering fields such as deep-sea engineering, offshore renewable energy, and deep-sea mining. It serves as a collaborative research platform, integrating scientific research, experimental testing, and engineering design.
During the symposium, several significant agreements were signed, including the co-construction of the “Qingdao Deep-Sea Equipment Testing and Research Center,” the “Joint Industrial Project on Hydrodynamic Performance Pool Testing for Deep-Sea Floating Wind Power Platforms,” and the establishment of the “Alliance for the Joint Development of Offshore Floating Wind Power Equipment.”
The newly launched deep-sea equipment testing pool is equipped with a first-class wind and wave-making system, a series of high-precision measurement instruments, and auxiliary facilities. It has the capability to simulate real marine environments, fully meeting the testing standards for deep-sea vessels and marine engineering equipment. This facility will provide high-quality technical support for the research and development of deep-sea engineering equipment, accelerating the iterative upgrade of domestically produced high-end equipment.
