On February 18th, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd (CIMC SOE) held a successful steel cutting ceremony for the 24,000m3 LEG carrier built for Singapore’s Petredec at the manufacturing department of the west plant.
It is the second vessel of the same type built by CIMC SOE for Petredec after the first 24,000 m3 LEG carrier started in November last year. As a vessel completely developed by CIMC SOE, the vessel represents the technological benchmark of the new generation of LEG carriers.
By optimizing the hull line and layout design, the vessel achieves a design speed of up to 16 knots while significantly increasing its cargo capacity, balancing efficiency and capacity.
Its core power system is equipped with WinGD 5X52-S2.0-iSCR main engine, and innovatively integrates advanced equipment such as scrubber tower and shaft generator, which not only effectively reduces pollutant emissions, but also reduces greenhouse gas emissions and fuel consumption, making it a new generation of vessels with both high efficiency in transportation and green environmental protection features.
