On February 17th, Mawei Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding, successfully started the construction of 7,500 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC (pure car and track carrier) and 4,200 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC on the same day.
The 7500 CEU capacity LNG dual-fuel PCTC has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 38 meters, a depth of 14.8 meters, a design draft of 8.65 meters, and a maximum draft of 10 meters.
The propulsion system of this PCTC is designed with a single engine and a single propeller, utilizing an LNG dual-fuel main engine, a single bow thruster, and an electric RORO system. The cargo hold is equipped with 13 vehicle decks.
This type of PCTC is primarily used for transporting various types of vehicles, including heavy trucks, and packaged dangerous goods. It is also capable of transporting new energy vehicles powered by hydrogen and natural gas on the 11th, 12th, and 13th decks. The vessel is classed by ABS (American Bureau of Shipping).
The 4200 CEU capacity LNG dual-fuel PCTC has an overall length of 177.8 meters, a beam of 33.4 meters, a depth of 13.55 meters, a design draft of 8.4 meters, and a maximum draft of 8.65 meters. Designed by Deltamarin, the vessel is classed by DNV.
Upon completion, the vessel will primarily operate in Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Black Sea, transporting various types of ro-ro and non-ro-ro cargoes, including vehicles such as cars and trucks, as well as packaged dangerous goods. It is also capable of transporting new energy vehicles powered by hydrogen and natural gas on the 10th, 11th, and 12th decks (or on designated decks).
