Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Kicks Off Construction of 9,000 CEU PCTC for GRIMALDI

On February 14th,Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding successfully held a steel cutting ceremony for a 9,000 CEU PCTC built for GRIMALDI.

Tudor Gabriel Tatoiu, Project Manager of GRIMALDI, Liu Yingding, Resident Manager of RINA and representatives from relevant departments of the company attended the ceremony.

This vessel is the fifth 9,000 CEU PCTC built by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for GRIMALDI Company, which is classed by RINA. This vessel is the fifth 9,000-truck PCTCbuilt by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for GRIMALDI Company, which is classed by RINA. The vessel has an overall length of 199.90 meters, a beam of 38.0 meters, a depth of 14.8 meters, a design draft of 9.2 meters and a design speed of 19.0 kn. It adopts MAN B&W 7S60MEC10.6-HPSCR main engine, which meets Tier II/III specifications.

Meanwhile, it is the first vessel of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding to start construction in 2025, demonstrating the increasingly mature construction capability of the shipyard in the field of car carriers.
