On February 10th, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), held the steel cutting ceremonies for the fifth ship (H1794A) under the first phase of QatarEnergy’s “Hundred Ships Project” and the third ship (H1896A) for the Petronas project at the western plant area of the manufacturing division.
The two vessels under construction are the fifth generation of LNG carriers independently developed by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding.
With an overall length of 299 meters, a beam of 46.4 meters and a depth of 26.25 meters, the vessels adopt the latest-generation double-fin shape. Equipped with a number of low carbon and digital technologies, the vessels have the highlights of fast performance, low sailing emissions, high degree of advancement and global versatility, and light empty weight and strong cargo carrying capacity.
