Seacon Shipping to sell a chemical tanker/oil tanker

On February 7th, Seacon Shipping Group Holdings Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Seacon Shipping”) issued an announcement titled “(1) Major Transaction: Sale of a Vessel and (2) Disclosable Transaction: Exercise of Option to Purchase a Vessel.”

The announcement disclosed that Golden Dahlia Limited, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Seacon Shipping, as the seller, entered into an agreement with Union Maritime as the buyer for the sale of a vessel at a transaction price of US$32.88 million.

According to the announcement, the vessel is a chemical tanker/oil tanker built in 2021 and is expected to be delivered on April 8, 2025. Pursuant to the agreement, the vessel is currently leased by the seller, who plans to exercise the purchase option to acquire the vessel for a maximum price of approximately $21 million on the delivery date.

Seacon Shipping said it expects the transaction to generate proceeds of approximately $6.5 million for the company, with the proceeds to be used for potential vessel acquisitions and general working capital.
