On February 6, China Merchants Jingling Shipyard (Weihai) Co. Ltd. (“CMJL (Weihai)”) kicked off the construction of the third 7,000 CEU dual-fuel PCTC built for Norwegian shipowner GAC.
The PCTC has a length of 199.9 meters, a width of 38 meters, a design draft of 8.6 meters and a speed of 19 knots. It is equipped with 12 fixed and movable cargo decks, which can improve cargo loading and unloading efficiency and enhance the economic benefits of ship operation.
The propulsion system adheres to a green, energy-saving, and environmentally-friendly design concept, using a high-pressure dual-fuel system with two 1,675 cubic meter LNG storage tanks, and is equipped with a shaft generator.
The vessel meets the International Maritime Organization’s TIER III emission standards, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and offers advantages in energy savings, environmental protection, and efficiency.
