Recently, the JSD6000 deepwater crane and pipe-laying vessel, one of the world’s most advanced multi-functional offshore engineering vessels and the first domestic vessel integrating both J-type and S-type pipe-laying, which was co-developed and owned by Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (ZPMC), completed the first phase of underwater installation in Australian waters. More important components will be accurately placed one by one at that target depth.
After the JSD6000 pipe-laying vessel was delivered to Italian offshore giant Saipem in July 2024, it underwent a five-month adaptive upgrade in Singapore and now has the ability to lower 1,500 tons in ultra-deep water. The successful implementation of this operation fully verified the precise dynamic positioning capability and strong ultra-deep water construction capability of the pipe-laying vessel.
The JSD6000 pipe-laying vessel not only provides users with more efficient, safe, green and reliable marine equipment, but will also further promote the high-quality development of the marine equipment industry and enhance China’s deep-sea pipe-laying operations and marine exploration and development capabilities.
