On January 22, China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Beihai Shipbuilding and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), as the joint seller, held a naming and delivery ceremony for the 210,000 DWT Ammonia Ready Bulk Carrier Vessel No. 48 “MINERAL OSTERREICH” built for Belgian CMB Company.
“Mineral Osterreich” is designed by China Ship Design & Research Center Co., Ltd, (CSDC). The vessel has an overall length of 299.95 meters, a beam of 50 meters, a depth of 25.2 meters, a deadweight of about 210,000 tons, a service speed of 14.58 knots, and is classed by LR.
During the trial voyage, the indicators for speed, fuel consumption, and maneuverability all exceeded the contract standard requirements, reaching international advanced levels. The Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) was 34.40% lower than the baseline value, meeting the Phase III emission requirements.
The integrity score of the ship upon undocking and the overall assembly integrity score of the living quarters were further improved. After the sea trial, all the opinions of the shipowner and the classification society were completed within just 11 days. Ultimately, Beihai Shipbuilding completed the construction and delivery 67 days ahead of the contract period.
