StormGeo, a leading provider of maritime technology solutions, has entered into a partnership with Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore (BV), a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification. Together, the collaboration will support, through the integration of digital solutions, vessels between 400 and 5,000 GT, as well as offshore vessels of 400 GT and above, in meeting the upcoming 2025 EU MRV compliance regulations.
As part of the partnership, StormGeo’s emission reporting solutions will be integrated with BV’s VeriSTAR Green advanced emission platform. This will streamline the end-to-end process and help shipowners and operators to meet new European emissions regulations with minimal disruption to operations. Starting in January 2025, the EU MRV Regulation will require vessels under 5,000 GT to report their CO2 emissions and fuel consumption while operating in EU waters.
StormGeo, with over 3,500 vessels already using its EU MRV services, will now extend its expertise to smaller vessels impacted by the new regulations.
Petter Andersen, Senior Vice President of Shipping, StormGeo, said: “We are leveraging the knowledge gained from working with large fleets to support the compliance needs of smaller vessels. Our solutions are designed to streamline the compliance process, making it easier for all vessel types to meet the necessary environmental standards while optimizing operational efficiency. By partnering with Bureau Veritas and integrating StormGeo’s solutions with their VeriSTAR Green platform, we can offer these vessels the same level of expertise and solutions, enabling a seamless transition to meet the new EU MRV regulations.”
