COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Takes Orders for 63 New Ships in 2024

In 2024, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry focused on green transformation, achieved new breakthroughs in the direction of order taking for bulk carriers, container ships, tankers and special ships, and signed orders for a number of new energy, green and low-carbon intelligent ships, laying a solid foundation for sustainable development.

The shipbuilding business has made breakthrough progress, successfully undertaking orders for 63 ships, covering a wide range of ship types such as bulk carriers, container ships, methanol dual-fuel ore carriers, oil tankers, gas carriers and so on. Among them, the high-end, green and intelligent ships accounted for 67% of the annual orders, the proportion of which is increasing, fully demonstrating the company’s comprehensive strength and market competitiveness in the field of shipbuilding.

Comprehensive Expansion of Ship Repair and Conversion: COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry has been actively expanding its high value-added business, undertaking projects such as retrofitting of desulfurization towers, energy saving and emission reduction, new energy conversion, LNG/LPG repair and repair of luxury cruise ships, etc., thus expanding the scope of its business and continuously improving its service capacity.

The marine industry has been refined and strengthened: COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry seized the market hotspots and signed a series of orders for shuttle tankers and high-end wind power installation vessels to consolidate its leading position in the market segments.
