From January to December, China’s shipbuilding completion volume, new orders received and hand-held orders of China’s shipbuilding industry accounted for 55.7%, 74.1% and 63.1% of the global total in terms of deadweight tons, and 50.3%, 68.2% and 55.4% in terms of compensated gross tonnage (CGT).
In 2024, export ships accounted for 87.4%, 91.5% and 93.1% of the all shipbuilding completion volume, new shipbuilding orders and hand-held orders. China’s ship exports amounted to US$43.38 billion (about RMB 317.45 billion).
