Jiangnan Shipyard Sets New Record for Docking Period

On January 15, the No. 4 Dock of Jiangnan Shipyard under China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) welcomed the launch of a 99,000 m³ very large ethane ethylene carrier (VLEC), a 99,000 m³ VLEC half-ship and a 9,000 CEU methanol reserved pure car and track carrier (PCTC) half-ship floating simultaneously. This batch of ships was launched in just 35 days, setting a new record for the docking period in the No. 4 dock.

It is understood that the whole ship launched this time is the first 99,000 m³ VLEC series ship (H2646 ship) built by Jiangnan Shipyard for Pacific Gas Lines; half of the first 9,000-class methanol reserved PCTC series ship (H2666 ship) built for SAIC Anji Logistics Company and half of the second 99,000 m³ VLEC series ship (H2647 ship) built for Pacific Gas Lines were floated simultaneously.

Jiangnan Shipyard stated that the 35-day docking cycle is a test for the construction team, and also a practical exercise for No. 4 dock to enter the 45-day cycle in 2026. It is reported that this year, No. 4 dock will welcome 6 batches of launching, during which there will also be a double line VLEC synchronous construction and PV synchronous cross batch.
